Charlie was the first Brittany Stacy ever had. One of the boys was afraid of dogs as a very young child, and so they got a puppy for him to play with. He eventually overcame his fear of dogs, and Charlie was always very special to him. His brother was known to feed Charlie Cheerios as she followed him around in his walker.

Abbey

Abbey was our first Brittany as a couple; the kids were around 8 and we found someone locally who had a litter of babies on offer. Her mom and dad were both gorgeous, sweet dogs and she was no different. Abbey was with us until around 2012, when her heart gave out. She was the best, sweetest baby girl we could have ever asked for. Those spots were heartmelting.

Alton

Alton was our second, named for the famous, local Food Network star Alton Brown, for his large amount of brown on his back. Alton was the pentultimate puppy buddy, he never let anything get him down. At around age 7, he developed an autoimmune condition known as SARDS, in which the body's own immune system attacks and destroys the retinas leading to permanent blindness. Throughout that transition and for the rest of his life, Alton was both an inspiration to us all about turning life's lemons into lemonade and a real trooper. A mentor to our foster Jessie, Alton would reliably, at 6 o'clock every day, hop down from our bed, go collect Jessie (also blind) and lead her to dinner.

Ella

Ella came to us from the same breeder that provided Alton; they were related as they shared a mother, tho they were from different litters. Ella was super athletic, had a crafty side, and would use both talents regularly. She had an affinity for watching over the back yard, and would hop up onto the clothes dryer and watch out the window for squirrels and other vermin that required her attention.

Carter

Carter was a foster from NBRAN who came to stay with us for a while. He ended up being placed with a family in San Diego. Thanks to a neighbor who agreed to be his human escort, NBRAN flew him out to his new home via Delta. He loves exploring the desert, the lakes and all the sunshine.

Jessie

Jessie came to us from a farm in the central United States. She, like Alton, had grown blind and her owners did not know what to do with a hunting dog that could not see. They left her in her pen, where she chewed down her teeth trying to get out. They fed her, but she had so little exercise, that she gained weight and was barely ambulatory when she arrived in Atlanta via the shuttle. Over the next several years, Collin worked with her to rebuild her strength, reduce her excess weight. Alton, our blind dog, also made an effort to help her navigate the house. She never lost her desire for food, as many of these pictures show. She was a special senior dog addition to our family; something we very much recommend.

Sofia

Sofia came to us from the midwest, where she was found wandering alone, scared, and malnourished. She was sensitive to loud noises, which led rescue teams to determine she was gunshy and likely ran off or was abandoned from a hunt. She lived to nearly 16 years of age, owing partly to a very active Bridget in the last year and a half of her life who kept her busy with toys, tussles and snuggles.

Mackey

Like Sofia, Mackey was a failed foster. Mackey was discovered tethered outside an abandoned home (!!?) in rural Georgia. When his rescuer required hand surgery, she reached out to us to foster him until she had recovered enough to work with him on leash. While he was with us, he so bonded to Stacy that it was clear he had chosen his new home and he should stay where he was. His big heart, his big woof, and his gruffness toward Baron was a wonderful addition to our life.

Riley

Riley (aka "Riley Cone") was a temporary placement from NBRAN. Originally suspected of suffering intense flea strike on his buttocks, legs, and back, doctors at UGA Veterinary Clinic identified a food allergy. For the first half of his stay with us, Riley had to wear a cone of shame; he did not like it, though he did come to tolerate it by the time he was able to remove it for good. Once he was placed on a hypoallergenic kangaroo-based food, his lesions and sores cleared up and he was cone free. He was subsequently placed in a forever home.

Bridget

Bridget is our 2 year-old rescue from American Brittany Rescue. Born in a mill in Florida, she was one of 5 or 6 dogs who were rehomed after the person was raided and shut down. Her siblings live across the US southeast, and one of them was featured on UPS Dogs on Instagram. Bridget aspires to be so lucky with Tommy, our UPS delivery driver.

Josie

Josie is our latest puppy who came to us on March 26, 2026. A roan liver and white, she has as many spots as she does cute poses. She and Bridget took a day to get acquainted, but after that they have been best friends and playmates.

Friends

The babies have made many friends - be they other dogs, other people, or outside visitors. Ella had a notable relationship with "Mr. Toad" who would come courting every night one summer at about 830pm. She would wait for him at the back door and get super excited when he showed up. They would sit there and stare at each other for an hour or 2, before Mr. Toad went home for the night. Bridget loves squirrels, or l'ecuirreil as she prefers they be called. "Achey Rey" visits the birdfeeder regularly and sits outside the window, taunting her as he hops from tree to tree.
